Swatch Vintage Collection

A Passion for Swatch Vintage Models

Some watches tell the time. Swatches tell stories.

That has always been the magic of the brand. Long before collaborations became fashionable or colourful design found its way into everyday products, Swatch had already turned the wristwatch into something playful, creative and unmistakably optimistic. Every collection brought new ideas, new colours and new personalities. Some models made people smile. Others started conversations. Many became icons without ever trying to.

That creative energy is what first drew us to vintage Swatch, and it is still the reason Swatch Vintage Collection exists today.

Our ambition has always been to preserve the most faithful examples of this extraordinary period in Swatch history, so that decades later they can still be experienced exactly as they were originally intended.

More than “New Old Stock”

The words New Old Stock appear frequently in the vintage world, but they can mean very different things depending on who uses them. For us, they describe something very precise.

Every watch offered by Swatch Vintage Collection has remained unworn since the day it left the factory. More importantly, it has also retained the level of preservation that allows it to represent its original state with confidence. That distinction is essential.

A watch may never have been worn and still show the effects of unsuitable storage or the passage of time. We simply don't make compromises on that point.

Every watch is examined individually. If there is the slightest indication that it no longer reflects what we believe a genuine New Old Stock example should be, it does not become part of the collection, regardless of how rare or desirable the reference may be.

This philosophy inevitably means saying “no” far more often than saying “yes”, but it is also the reason why every watch presented here belongs in the collection.

Finding the Right Watch

People sometimes imagine that vintage watches are simply bought, photographed and offered for sale. In reality, finding the right watch often takes years.

Most of our watches come from long-standing relationships with private collectors who have spent decades preserving their own collections with remarkable care. Many acquired these watches when they were still available at retail and kept them exactly as they were, often stored away from light in stable conditions and left completely untouched.

Those collections are extraordinary, not because they contain rare references, but because they reflect the same philosophy that guides Swatch Vintage Collection today: preservation before everything else.

When a collection becomes available, every watch is assessed individually. Some are accepted. Many are not. The selection is intentionally demanding because once a watch joins the collection, it becomes part of something much larger than a catalogue. It becomes part of a time capsule.

Looking Beyond the Reference Number

Two watches sharing the same reference number can tell completely different stories.

One may have spent decades exposed to sunlight in a display cabinet. Another may have remained carefully stored since the day it was purchased. On paper they are identical. In reality they are not.

This is why we never evaluate a watch by its reference alone.

Its originality, its state of preservation, its visual integrity and, whenever available, its original packaging are considered together. Every decision is made one watch at a time, because every watch deserves to be judged on its own merits.

The Work You Don't See

Much of our work happens long before a watch appears on the website.

Each piece is carefully examined, photographed individually and documented from direct observation before any historical research begins. We believe the watch itself should always be the starting point. Its colours, proportions, materials and design deserve to be understood before they are interpreted.

Whenever historical context can be supported by original catalogues, archival material or reliable documentation, we include it. When information remains uncertain, we prefer to acknowledge it rather than fill the gaps with speculation.

Every photograph you see shows the actual watch being offered. Nothing is generic, because no two vintage watches are ever truly identical.

Preserving the Time Capsule

The responsibility of preserving a watch does not end once it reaches us.

Until it finds its future owner, every watch remains stored away from light in a temperature and humidity controlled environment. After spending decades in carefully preserved private collections, we believe that level of care should continue uninterrupted until the moment the watch finally begins the life it was originally made for.

This approach is not about creating perfection. It is about protecting authenticity.

Swatch Vintage Collection is built around a simple idea: if a watch has reached us in exceptional original condition, it deserves to leave us in exactly the same state.

A Fair Perspective

Pricing vintage watches is rarely as simple as comparing a few listings online.

Every watch is valued individually, taking into account its preservation, originality, completeness, rarity and actual availability. The quality of the specific example always comes before the popularity of the reference itself.

Our intention has never been to follow short-term market trends or encourage speculation. We simply try to assign a value that feels consistent with the watch, respectful of the collector who preserved it and fair to the person who will eventually wear it.

A Community Built Around Swatch

One of the greatest pleasures of this work is meeting people who share the same enthusiasm for vintage Swatch.

Some discover the brand for the first time. Others have been collecting for decades. Many return simply because another watch reminds them of a holiday, a childhood memory or a design they had almost forgotten.

Those conversations are an important part of Swatch Vintage Collection.

Behind every watch there is a story. More often than not, another story begins the day it leaves us. We are simply grateful to play a small part in that journey.

You’re often less likely to come across someone wearing the same vintage Swatch than the same Rolex.
