The Avantage captures the spirit of tennis through one of the brand's most immersive creations of the late 1990s.
Introduced in 1998, the watch immediately stands out with its vivid yellow appearance. The dial faithfully reproduces the colour and texture of a tennis ball, while the original flocked strap extends the concept with a remarkably tactile finish. Every detail contributes to a design conceived as a complete object rather than a simple wristwatch.
This example is preserved in its original Worldwide Packaging (GK277PACK1), a presentation inspired by a tube of tennis balls and produced for international distribution. Complete, factory-sealed examples have become exceptionally difficult to encounter today, making this configuration considerably scarcer than the watch alone.
The Worldwide Packaging should not be confused with the dedicated ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament release produced for the Dutch event. Both share the same watch while representing distinct collecting references. This example corresponds to the official international release.
Remaining factory sealed for more than twenty-five years, this Avantage has survived exactly as it left Swatch in 1998. Finding the watch is one thing. Finding it complete, untouched and preserved in its original tennis-inspired presentation has become a genuine rarity.
Today, the Worldwide Packaging version stands among the most elusive sports-themed Swatch presentations of its generation, offering collectors the opportunity to acquire one of the brand's most imaginative concepts exactly as it was originally intended to be experienced.
