Released in 1991 as part of Swatch's celebrated 700 Years of Switzerland artist series.
Wheel Animal was created by Swiss contemporary artist Not Vital, internationally recognised for his sculptures exploring time, nature and the relationship between people and landscape. Rather than designing a conventional watch, Vital transformed the dial into a symbolic wheel inspired by ancient forms of measuring time, inviting the wearer to experience time as a concept rather than simply read it.
More than a commemorative edition, Wheel Animal reflects Not Vital's poetic artistic vision and remains one of the most distinctive collaborations between Swatch and the contemporary art world.
